Teaching

A huge passion of mine is to help inspire and teach people about the world of theatre. Whether it be teaching lighting through to set, or even aspects of acting and directing, I enjoy trying to pass on the knowledge I've been able to acquire - and even learning myself from the students that I teach.

My enthusiasm for teaching began when I volunteered at my local Beaver group as a Young Leader. Here, I would have to help assist the Leaders run and lead weekly activities for the 30 strong Beaver group, of 5 to 6 year olds, while also watching out for their safety and wellbeing. The skills that I have been able to obtain from over 2 years of volunteering have been vital in helping me to succeed as a person and as a lighting designer.

My experience of teaching has developed over the years, running a school Technical Theatre Club for a year before coming to University and becoming a Technical Course Assistant for the second year in a row for the National Youth Theatre Summer Technical Courses.

Through my time running my school's Technical Theatre Club I have produced some of my own materials. Click here to view some of these works.
