ZERO explores the relationship between memory and time, inspired by Haramein's quote: ‘Since time is distance in space, time is memory on the structure of space. Without memory, there is no time. Without time, there is no memory’.
What happens to our memory when the dimensions of time and space disappear or shift? If we started from a zero point, a place of no memories, how would we look at reality and experience life?
The piece is physical, emotive and dynamic integrating intricate lighting, surrounding sound and striking costumes to present a dream-like world that immerses the audience into a visual and sonic journey for the senses and imagination. Humanhood bring its signature movement language to the stage where the two dancers symbiotically fuse and split as matter do in nature.
Working in collaboration with Birmingham university school of physics and astrophysics, ZERO merges science and art bringing cosmology and movement to the stage. You will be transported into a new world of sound and light that comes to life.
